Bonefish Grill - Brick
179 Van Zile Road
Brick, NJ 08724

(732) 785-2725
This is an upscale national chain, featuring primarily wood grilled fish. It has a large menu of fresh fish, grilled and served with a choice of four different sauces or no sauce at all.

It is a beautiful restaurant located in a shopping center, just off Route 70. The staff is very efficient, and the service is excellent. The place is warm, comfortable, and inviting. It is committed to quality and excellence on every level. They call this ambiance "polished casual.”

The Corn Chowder with Lump Crab is a delicately spiced hearty soup. The signature appetizer, Bang Bang Shrimp is wonderful, and almost a meal in itself.

However, be prepared for a long wait (worth it) the place is packed almost every night.

Capone's Gourmet Pasta and Pizza Trattoria

& Jimmy C's Sports Bar

17 Washington Street
Toms River, New Jersey 08753

Capone's 732-473-1777
Jimmy C's 732-473-1183

Open Monday through Saturday

This restaurant is Italian with real "little Italy" flavor. It appears small from the outside but has a number of interconnecting rooms. It has a large menu with all the traditional Italian dishes, submarine sandwiches and a variety of pastas. An extensive pizza menu makes it a popular family restaurant.

Right next door is Jimmy C's Sports Bar which has sushi, steak, burgers, salad bar and more. A beautifully appointed pub style sports bar that has good food, and of course the obligatory flat screen TVs all over the place. (Strange that they're not open on Sunday when all the sports events occur.)

Craig's

292 Princeton Avenue,
Brick, NJ

(732) 295-7929

www.CraigsFineFoods.com

The late night place to be. Do you ever get hungry around 11:00 at night? Craig's is the place to go. A wonderful local little tavern that serves a full menu until 1:00 am. From a deli sandwich to a full dinner, with unique specials for lunch and dinner.

Good food and a congenial tavern atmosphere that also has a package license. The main parking is in the back off Davos Road. When you enter Craig's, you'll see the beautiful dark wood paneled bar. Be sure to check out the array of vodkas at the bar.

Lobster Shanty

4 Robbins Pkwy
Toms River, NJ 08753

732-240-4800

Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty is part of a small chain of restaurants that started here in New Jersey. The Baker family started with their first restaurant in Point Pleasant, New Jersey more years ago then I care to remember. This moderately priced restaurant is very beautiful inside, with its dark wood paneling and large windows. It overlooks the Toms River, and has a dining alfresco deck. It's a pleasure to sit there on a warm summer evening and watch the boats coming back to the dock at the end of the day. It does, of course, as the name implies, serves lobster. It also has a large Early Bird Special Menu and a full bar.

Luna Rosa Trattoria

401 Boulevard
Seaside Heights, NJ
732-793-0021
www.lunarosanj.com

You can't miss the big bright blue illuminated panels as you drive down the Boulevard in Seaside Heights . They adorn the outside of Luna Rosa, a popular restaurant, bar, and night club.

You will find excellent Italian cuisine in this unique Trattoria featuring pasta, chicken, veal , seafood and other Italian specialties. (It is a real gem of a place in the winter without the summer crowds.)

You can't miss with wonderful dishes like Chicken Franchise, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Veal Marsala.

This restaurant is family-run, and the food and service are more casual, warmer and personal than in many other upscale Italian restaurants. If you like to linger over a bottle of wine this is the place to do it.

Their large outdoor dining area has Fire Pit Tables, providing warmth and fun for those cool evenings in the spring, summer, and fall. However, Fire Pit seating is limited, so reservations are a must . Actually dinner reservations are a good idea at any time of the year.

They have Entertainment all year round. Fall/Winter hours are Thursday - Sunday, open at 5:00. :

Mel's American Cafe

This wonderful American style restaurant features delicious American favorites like meatloaf, Maryland crab cakes, and baby back ribs. Located on the west side of Brick Plaza, it is just a short walk from the movie theater

They also make a fabulous grilled cheese tomato and bacon sandwich (one of my favorites for lunch). They have a very attractive bar that serves a fine selection of draft beer, bottled beer, mixed drinks and wine.

A splendid Chinese/Thai restaurant. A real sit-down restaurant with a cocktail lounge (it's not just another takeout place). They have all the usual Chinese items and a number of House Specials, and also Thai Cooking. Pad Thai-Thai rice noodles with peanut sauce is one of my favorite dishes here.

Shogun Legends

1969 Route 34 • Wall, NJ 07719
732.449.6696

The huge fish tank with beautiful tropical saltwater fish is a must see.

This restaurant has Sushi, Asian fusion (Chinese, Japanese and Thai) with Hibachi dining on the second floor.

One of my favorite Chinese dishes is Peking Duck, and this restaurant has the finest Peking Duck I have ever had. This restaurant is owned by the same people who own the Shogun at the Bay Lea Golf Course in Toms River.

It is one of the most beautiful upscale Asian restaurants I have ever encountered. Every meal I've had there has been superb. I could sit at the bar for hours and watch the fish swim in the large fish tank. If cocktail hour is for relaxation then this is the best.

Wang Sushi (Asian Fusion)

203 Rt 37 East & Marian St (next to Wolfie's and behind Spring Water Depot)
Toms River, NJ 08755
732 818 1388

http://www.wangsushi.com/

Daily Lunch Specials and Sushi Specials

Featuring premiere Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese gourmet cuisine.

This modest little restaurant has one of the most ambitious Asian menus I have ever seen. Ryan Wang the chef /owner has been involved in the restaurant business in this area for many years. His menu consists of the usual and unusual. A concoction called Bubble Tea, I found to be the most unusual. As for the more traditional dishes he does them with flare and style. Everything I've had so far has been excellent and I am looking forward to trying some of the Vietnamese dishes .
